The Flashbacks, an Easley, South Carolina band, is a dynamic group of eight professionals from the Upstate. The group's unique and versatile musical style covers Rock 'N' Roll.Beach and Soul. Their range includes Motown, shaggin' beach classics and female vocal artists from the wonderful 60's.
The Flashbacks have performed for numerous private parties, country clubs, outdoor festivals and benefits throughout the state. Attendance at some of the events has reached 10,000. They have opened for performers such as The Fantastic Shakers, Chairman of the Board, The Impressions, Maurice Williams and The Mighty Tams.
There are three CD projects from The Flashbacks, and soon to be a fourth. Their first is entitled "Rock 'N' Roll.Beach and Soul", a second entitled "Week Getaway" and a third, entitled "Shakin". A fourth CD entitled " Havin' A Good Time" is scheduled to be released September 12, 2003 on the Ripete Records label. All CD's are available wherever Beach Music is sold.
The Flashbacks have teamed up in the studio with recording legends Bill Pinkney, Kip Anderson and Clifford Curry. These renown artists are guest vocalists on several of cuts from the CD's. The Flashbacks' cover of The Drifters' hit "Steamboat" featured Bill Pinkney as guest lead vocalists. Many beach music enthusiasts will recall that Bill was the lead vocalist when The Drifters originally recorded this classic in 1954. As of late, Clifford Curry (1967 She Shot A Hole In My Soul) performed as a guest lead vocalist during a cover of "Kiddio" on The Flashbacks latest release "Havin' A Good Time".
