The SugarBees are a Beach, Boogie, and Blues studio house band at South Carolina's BradleyHouseMusic. Along with Beach Music, the group covers a variety of genres including the best of R&B, rock, alternative, pop, classics, and todays top hits. Multi Platinum Producer/ Engineer Fred Shaw and rock-solid drummer along with Marion Carter with Ripete Records founded the band in 1996.
The studio band got their start backing National and International talent such as Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs, The Gatlin Brothers, The Stylistics, The Drifters, The Tams, The Embers, The Platters, Danny and the Juniors, Joe Simon, Chuck Berry, Jay Spell of Jimmy Buffets Coral Reefer Band, Nappy Brown, Bill Pinkney, Kip Anderson, Dale Hawkins, James Burry, Dan Penn, Spooner Oldham, and many more.
Named by Marion Carter, the SugarBees released their debut CD "Bad, Bad Business" in 1998 and continued recording and touring later releasing four CD projects. The group has its own impressive list of hit songs for the beach and shag market including "Susie Q", "Slippin n Slidin", "The Monkey Song", "Holy Cow", "Hold you to your Promise", "Give it to a Good Man", "Automobile", and several more currently climbing the charts.
Currently the SugarBees have two original songs in the Top 40 Beach Music charts, "Vacation" and "Dizzy" featuring Mary Vella. The 24 year old vocalist, Mary Vella, joined the SugarBees in 2011 singing and writing new, original tunes to add to the Beach Music Charts. The talented singer/songwriter adds youth and beauty to the show performing a variety today's hit songs. New Orleans native, Ceasar, joined in 2005 adding an incredibly high energy Cajun influenced floorshow. He pleases the crowd with songs like, "Zydico Train" and the tribute to James Brown.
The Group continues to be a leading live attraction with a new lineup of 19 year old Tyrell Taylor, an inspiring keyboard player and studio member who's played for Gospel groups, Anthony Brown "Amp" an original member of the SugarBees for over 15 years on bass, George Davis another original member strumming blues licks on guitar, and manager and founder, Fred Shaw, on drums. With topflight musicianship and a polished, energetic and dynamic live presentation, the SugarBess have it all!
The SugarBees are fully self-contained with full PA and Lights that can accommodate over 5000 people.
